⭕️ I introduced my little one to books from the very beginning. At first, we started with high-contrast black-and-white books, then gradually moved on to colorful ones with big, clear pictures. As my child grew, I chose books with fewer words at first, slowly increasing the complexity with longer stories.
⭕️ Even though my little one can’t read yet, that doesn’t matter. They listen as I read, flip through the pages, look at the pictures, and create their own stories in their mind. Sometimes, they sit there completely absorbed, letting their imagination run wild. In the beginning, they could only focus for about a minute, but little by little, that time grew longer, forming a habit. Eventually, reading became a natural part of our daily routine.
⭕️ I also set up a cozy little reading nook to make it even more inviting for both of us. I use a small, rear-facing Montessori bookshelf—just the right height for my child—so they can easily see the covers and choose what interests them. I also keep the selection small to avoid overwhelming them.
⭕️ I truly believe that these small, simple steps help nurture a love for books naturally—without pressure, just through curiosity and the joy of discovering new stories. 💚
